Manufactured in the UK from 100% recycled, UV-stable polypropylene, each grid measures 500mm × 500mm, is 40mm high and covers 0.25m². The open-cell structure can be filled with gravel, stones, soil or grass seed while allowing water to drain naturally through the surface.

How Many Grids Do I Need?

Each 500mm × 500mm grid covers 0.25m², meaning four grids cover 1m². Divide your total project area in square metres by 0.25 to calculate the minimum number required.

Alternatively, use the calculator above and enter the length and width of your area in metres or feet. We recommend allowing approximately 5% extra for cuts, irregularly shaped areas and future adjustments.

Example: A 5m × 7m area covers 35m², so the exact requirement is 140 grids. With a 5% allowance, you would need 147 grids; select the next suitable available pack size.

Key Features & Product Specifications

Simple Interlocking Installation

Prepare a firm, level and well-compacted sub-base suitable for the intended application. Lay a suitable geotextile membrane where required, position the grids over the prepared area and connect the interlocking edges to form a continuous surface.

Trim grids carefully where required using appropriate cutting equipment and personal protective equipment. Once installed, fill the cells evenly with your chosen gravel, stone, soil or grass-growing medium and finish to the required level.

Before Installation

The performance of the finished surface depends on correct ground preparation. Ensure the sub-base depth, compaction, drainage and edging are suitable for the ground conditions and intended load. Driveways and parking areas generally require more substantial preparation than pedestrian paths or decorative garden spaces.

Maintenance

Inspect the finished surface periodically and redistribute or top up the gravel where required. Remove weeds and debris as part of normal garden or driveway maintenance. Avoid allowing large areas of the grid to remain exposed during regular vehicle use.

Gravel grids reinforce and stabilise a correctly prepared base; they are not a substitute for appropriate excavation, sub-base construction, drainage or edging. Installation requirements vary according to soil conditions, expected traffic and intended use. Seek professional advice for heavy-duty, commercial or technically demanding installations.
